Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions about our store and tasting experiences.
What is the shelf life of your olive oils and balsamic vinegars?
At Olive Grove, we're committed to offering the freshest olive oils possible. For the best flavor and highest antioxidant levels, we recommend enjoying your olive oil within one year of its harvest date. We're happy to provide crush dates for our Extra Virgin Olive Oils upon request so you always know how fresh your oil is.
There is no expiration date for our balsamic vinegars.
How should I store my olive oils and balsamic vinegars?
To keep your olive oils and balsamic vinegars tasting their best, store them in a cool, dark place such as your pantry or a cabinet — away from direct sunlight or heat sources. Exposure to UV rays can cause olive oil to lose its fresh flavor and beneficial nutrients over time.
Balsamic vinegars are naturally self-preserving thanks to their acidic levels, but they'll also stay at peak quality when stored the same way — cool, dark, and tightly sealed.
Can I cook or fry with olive oil?
Absolutely! Our Extra Virgin Olive Oils are excellent for cooking, sautéing, and even light frying. Because our EVOOs are low in free fatty acids, they naturally have a higher smoke point, which means they can handle heat better without breaking down. This allows you to enjoy all the health benefits and rich flavor of fresh olive oil in your everyday cooking.
Can I replace butter with olive oil?
Yes! Olive oil is a great substitute for butter in both cooking and baking. Our Butter Olive Oil is especially perfect — it gives you that rich, buttery flavor while staying completely dairy-free. You won't miss the butter one bit!
Are balsamic vinegars diabetic friendly?
Yes! Balsamic vinegar is diabetic-friendly when used in moderation. It's low in sugar and carbs and can even help support healthy blood sugar levels. Our balsamic vinegars are naturally sweet and contain no added sugars.
